"Barbie and Matthew are so down to earth and keep it real! They truly do this as a calling and a passion. I was so encouraged by their class as a woman and mother out and about in the community. I feel much more equipped and knowledgeable about how to defend myself and what my rights are in self defense. Truly an amazing course I would recommend to anyone, but especially women who may feel intimidated and helpless in self defense! They really remind women that we are more than capable against overcoming evil in this world. Their main motive is "do good, fight evil." A wonderful company and family!"

"My daughter and I took the CPL course together at Dinsmore Defense, and we learned so much from Matthew and Barbie! We went in knowing nothing about guns or how to use them and after taking the class, we left with confidence I never dreamed of having. The classroom environment and the outdoor shooting range were both very comfortable, with the instructors explaining everything in detail, sharing personal and impactful stories, and working with us on the basics of holding/shooting a gun. Taking the course with other women was also fantastic and added a whole additional level of comfort. I’m excited to keep learning and practicing!"

"I had an outstanding experience with Matt Dinsmore’s CPL class. Matt is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and presents the material in a way that’s easy to understand and engaging. You can tell he’s very well-versed in the law, and he takes the time to make sure everyone truly understands—not just the “what,” but the “why.” Beyond that, he’s just a genuinely down-to-earth, approachable guy who makes the entire class enjoyable. The location was comfortable and well set up, which made for a great learning environment. The outdoor range time was absolutely spectacular. You can clearly see that Matt isn’t just teaching the material—he lives it. He’s an exceptional marksman, and that really shows in the way he instructs and coaches. "I recently attended Barbie’s women’s-only CPL class, and it was fantastic. The class was incredibly informative, clearly covering everything I needed to know while still being easy to understand. Barbie created a comfortable, supportive environment that made learning enjoyable, and her teaching style really helped boost my confidence with handling and shooting a firearm. I left the class feeling empowered, knowledgeable, and prepared. Highly recommend!"

"The classroom, although located in an old barn, was amazing. Heated, well insulated, and very cheerful. The instructor was very knowledgeable about the subject and has an excellent way of presenting the material. It was nice getting out in the country for a little target practice. I was blown away. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 15."

"What I was looking for was a class that didn't have 15+ people; I wanted a more one-on-one experience, and got that. This class went above and beyond, and for someone like me, who is a 22-year-old college student, $65 is amazing and so worth the money."

"Matthew was an excellent instructor! He was very thorough with the content while still integrating fun and parts of himself into the training. It helped the 8 hours go by quickly while still feeling prepared to complete my CPL process. If you need an informational but still fun and personable course I cannot recommend Dinsmore Defense enough!"

"This was an exceptional class with an experienced instructor! The affordable prices may have you thinking that this class won’t be as helpful as some of the more expensive ones but Dinsmore defense has made it very clear that they are not in it for the money - they are in it to teach you how to protect yourself and yourself safely. As a beginner, I had several questions and Matt was extremely patient and was able to answer all of them. With a smaller class size, it felt much more personable and I had more 1:1 time with the instructor to help me with anything and everything. Their outdoor range was incredible. It was a simple setup for the testing portion but the steel targets were pretty fun to shoot at as well. I prefer outdoor ranges over indoor any day! Since my goal is to compete, Matt was able to give me a few pointers as a competitor himself. The only con is that there isn’t much to eat around the area aside from a McDonalds near by but I guarantee you that what this course lacks in food options, it makes up 10 fold in knowledge and experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I will surely have my wife come back to take a class as well."
